Firstly, I took a series of images of a “past its best” amaryllis flower using 2
mains LED lights shone on a white wall (background) and using a
further battery LED to light the flower. The small LED allows me to
change the colour of light on the flower. The camera was on a tripod to
ensure that each image had identical placing of the flower
I selected 3 images in Lightroom and processed them ensuring that the
background was pure white. They were then exported as jpgs at
1200px by 800px.
For post processing , I opened a new document in Photoshop at 2400px by 1200px and
imported the 3 images on separate layers flipping one vertically so that
the outer images faced into the frame. Using the effects option in
layers, I selected one image and created a 25px black inside stroke. I
then copied the effect to the other 2 images. I then selected the
complete image and added an inside stroke of 50px.
