"Too Late"by Kathy Haddow

I often take my mum cycling and wanting to explore further afield, we set off from Callander Meadows on a lovely warm day in August, heading for Lochearnhead. Following Cycle route 7 as it meanders along the side of the river Leny, we had not long left behind the log cabins on Loch Lubnaig when we came across this road sign. Given we were on a cycle track it made me wonder why it was placed there? Who were these hapless drivers who managed to squeeze their cars down this road, only to find a point of no return?
I use Google Maps a lot in my travels so could just picture this happening to me. After all, who hasn't been directed down some strange route with their sat-nav as it's 100m shorter than the obvious way? I thought this was hilarious and it really made me chuckle.

The Image is a detail from a phone box located by a pier on the Isle of Yell, Shetland - the local climate is not kind to exposed metals…
Hardest part of the challenge was no post processing allowed, not even cropping/straightening - shot 13th October with an iPhone 12.
